Inbar
The International Network of Bamboo and Rattan (Inbar.int) is headquartered in Beijing, China.
INBAR is an intergovernmental organization dedicated to improving the social, economic, and environmental benefits of bamboo and rattan. INBAR connects a global network of partners from the government, private, and not-for-profit sectors in over 50 countries to define and implement a global agenda for sustainable development through bamboo and rattan.
Bamboo and rattan are ideal resources for development that integrates poverty reduction and environmental sustainability, and INBAR is ideally placed to foster sustainability through a global partnership for development. Consequently our new strategy will contribute particularly to the achievement of United Nations Millennium Development Goals 1 (poverty eradication), 7 (environment) and 8 (partnership) in an integrated and coordinated way. The MDGs have focused global development activities in a hitherto unparalleled, positive manner. INBAR aims to make a significant, measurable contribution to reaching them.
