Whispering Winds Bamboo

Whispering Winds Bamboo is dedicated to “Creating a Culture of Bamboo” on Maui, which will advance sustainability and ecological agriculture on the Hawaiian Islands.

We are committed to educating the public to the possibilities of bamboo to feed us, shelter us, to protect our soils and watersheds and to add more jobs to our economy.
We are planning to accomplish this mission with an interwoven strategy that includes; cooperating with other bambooistas in educational endeavors, promoting our Maui nursery and the sale of bamboo plants to give the public first hand experience, experimenting on our plantation with silviculture methods most suited to our climate, furthering research by providing a setting in our plantation, growing a significant amount of timber poles which will provide the resource base to stimulate value added industries (furniture, plywood, flooring, musical instruments) as well as the possibility of a revolution in housing construction. Bamboo is just too beautiful and gloriously practical to let it remain a token tropical touch on a tiki bar.
Bamboo Farm
 We currently have 41 varieties of non-invasive clumping tropical bamboos of which we have selected some special varieties to propagate at large for our nursery sales here on Maui, Hawaii. With a special order we can supply almost anything.

Listen carefully....on the other side of the whispering wind you can hear the soft symphony of bamboo growing and the murmur of a revolution.
